Nanofiltration (NF) Systems supplier in Saudi Arabia | DSTC water treatment and desalination

Nanofiltration (NF) Systems

Engineered NF systems for partial softening, sulphate reduction, colour removal and process-water polishing.

Product Description

Where the goal is partial softening, sulphate reduction or colour removal rather than full desalination, DSTC engineers NF systems around the target rejection and feed analysis. Each system is sized to the feed water analysis, required m3/day and target reductions, then built with DuPont NF membranes, FRP pressure vessels, a high-pressure pump, cartridge pre-filtration, SEKO antiscalant dosing, instruments and a control panel. DSTC supports installation, membrane cleaning, replacement membranes, dosing chemicals and spare parts.

What to send for a quote

For quotation, send the feed water analysis, required capacity in m3/day, target reductions for hardness, sulphate and colour, feed water source, operating hours, available power and delivery city.

Overview

Nanofiltration is more selective than UF and less aggressive than RO. It is often the right fit when the target is to reduce hardness, sulphates, colour or organics while leaving part of the mineral content in the water. DSTC designs NF plants around water chemistry and target result rather than a fixed model number. The membrane type, number of 4040 or 8040 elements, pressure vessels, pump, recovery, antiscalant dosing and controls are selected from the feed water analysis and required m3/day.

Applications

  • Partial softening of hard water for food and beverage production
  • Colour and organic matter removal from process and product water
  • Sulphate reduction in process water and industrial feed streams
  • Water treatment for textile, dyeing and finishing plants
  • Pre-treatment or polishing where full RO desalting is not required
  • Upgrades, membrane replacement and O&M for existing NF plants

Product Range & Specs

  • Process: spiral-wound nanofiltration removes hardness, sulphates, colour and organics at lower pressure than RO while passing some monovalent salt
  • Membranes and vessels: DuPont NF membranes such as NF270 and NF90 in 4040 or 8040 elements, housed in Pentair or Codeline FRP pressure vessels
  • Pre-treatment and pumping: cartridge pre-filtration, a high-pressure feed pump and SEKO antiscalant dosing to protect the membranes
  • Control and automation: instruments and a control panel for pressure, flow and system monitoring
  • Capacity: engineered and sized to the required m3/day and feed water analysis, not sold as a single fixed model or stock size
  • DSTC support: system design, installation support, membrane cleaning and replacement, dosing chemicals, instruments and spare parts

Product Summary

NF sits between UF and RO. It removes hardness, sulphates, colour and organic matter while allowing some monovalent salts to pass, so it runs at lower pressure than RO and suits partial softening or selective reduction.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between nanofiltration and reverse osmosis?+

NF removes hardness, sulphates, colour and organics while letting some monovalent salts pass, and normally runs at lower pressure than RO. RO removes almost all dissolved salts at higher pressure.

Can a nanofiltration system soften hard water?+

Yes. NF gives partial softening by removing much of the calcium and magnesium hardness, along with sulphates and organic colour.

How does DSTC size an NF system?+

DSTC sizes each NF system from your feed water analysis, required capacity in m3/day and target reductions. Membranes, element count, vessels, pump and dosing are selected for your water.

Which membranes and components does DSTC use?+

DSTC builds NF systems with DuPont NF membranes such as NF270 and NF90 in 4040 and 8040 elements, Pentair or Codeline FRP vessels, high-pressure pump, cartridge pre-filtration, SEKO dosing, instruments and controls.

Does DSTC provide service and chemicals after installation?+

Yes. DSTC supports NF plants in Saudi Arabia with operation and maintenance, membrane cleaning and replacement, SEKO antiscalant dosing, cartridge filters, instruments and spare parts.
